STEPS
9. Code
10. Test
11. Launch
12. Finalize

BACK

1. Consultation

The consultation step consists of an initial conversation with one of our designers, in order to establish an overview of your project, and to address any questions you may have about web design, our process, and your project.

2. Research

Taking your specific needs into account, this step involves investigating your industry or field, similar existing websites, and anything else relevant to your project. Any information you can provide at this point will speed up our process.

3. Sitemap

This is a crucial step: organizing your content into a structured hierarchy of information, which is then itemized as a series of pages containing specific content and functionality, and finalized as a diagram. This is your first deliverable.

4. Contract

The contract is built around the website features discussed in the consultation session(s), and the sitemap is deliverable upon completion and cosigning. Additions/changes to the site mid-project will result in additional charges.

BACK

5. Content

Before moving forward with the Design Phase of your project, all (or most, as stipulated) of the content must be turned in to us. If you need help with content, we can either discuss our options or refer excellent contacts.

6. Wireframes

Once all site content has been collected, our designers can begin the process of laying out the functional structure of the layout, the geometry and visual hierarchies which make interaction with your material intuitive and efficient. This is the second deliverable.

7. Graphic Design

Once the layout of the page has been decided and confirmed, it will be converted to a visual layout in which palettes, typography, illustration, and all other graphical elements are finalized into an optional 1-5 design comps. This is the third deliverable.

8. Useability

After the visual design is established, it needs to be checked over for clarity and effectiveness by our team and tested out on the target audience. This step can be as brief or extensive as necessary, in proportion to the scope of the project.

BACK

9. Code

With the content, layout and design finalized, a prototype design will be planned out and built. The structure of the code will be SEO-friendly, standards compliant, and geared for the most up-to-date compatibility across the major browsers and devices.

10. Test

During this step, the code is checked for standards compliancy, w3c validation and cross-browser compatibility. This process of optimizing the site to display as consistently as possible across operating systems, devices, and browsers is an important step.

11. Launch

Once your site has been designed, built and checked over, it is ready to be set up and launched online. This is the final deliverable, unless you are signed up for hosting and/or domain support, or multi-stage design.

12. Finalize

At this point you will receive an invoice for work completed by our team, unless you are on a longer term schedule with Designcrane NYC. This could include hosting, maintenance, content updating, or more revisions and/or additions over time.
